In the spirit of "leap and the net will appear", I jumped on an open career consultation with Jen Rudolph earlier this week. I had heard great things about Jen's consults from friends, and have been thinking about meeting with her for a while. As soon as I walked in, I felt welcomed (particularly by Jen's dog Rosie - hi, Rosie!) and comfortable. Jen was incredibly gracious and lovely, but also professional and right on the money. According to Jen, I am, "Smart, tough, compassionate, justice-oriented, vulnerable deep down but hides it well... believes in fighting for a cause and loves humanity... doctor/lawyer/researcher of some kind." AND - I look like Jennifer Lawrence, which I'm going to call a huge win (we have the same eyes). Jen also said that, "If I was going to go camping, I'd want to go camping with you," - not too sure about that one, but I'll take it. More importantly, I walked out with a tangible blueprint for how to move forward, which I'm putting into action. Most importantly, I walked out inspired. Thank you, Jen!
